Mobile Crane

Mobile cranes are heavy-duty machines used for lifting and transporting heavy loads in industries like construction, manufacturing, and transportation. However, due to their frequent use, they are prone to wear and tear. Therefore, regular inspections are necessary to ensure they operate safely.

Mobile cranes play a vital role in many industries worldwide. At Mines , we ensure that mobile cranes remain in good working condition and are safe to use.

This underscores the importance of lifting equipment inspections.

Inspecting a mobile crane is a crucial safety measure in crane operation.

Pre-operation inspections help identify potential issues, preventing injuries and saving lives.

A competent person must conduct a visual inspection before each shift the crane is used, either before or during the shift.

The inspection procedure entails visually examining both the exterior and interior of the mobile crane.

This involves verifying the condition of the following components:

  • Structural elements like the boom, outriggers, and counterweight
  • Wire ropes, chains, and slings
  • Hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Controls and instrumentation
  • Wheels, tires, and brakes

Furthermore, non-destructive testing (NDT) is incorporated into the inspection process. NDT methods, which assess the integrity of crane materials and components without causing damage, encompass:

  • Visual inspection
  • Ultrasonic testing
  • Magnetic particle testing and
  • Radiographic testing.
