In 2008, I made the transition to Mines Services Suriname N.V., shuttling between Suriname and Mines Services Guyana for about five years. This was during the period when Mines still operated from its office next to the Golfclub Paramaribo on Indira Gandhiweg.
My employment was not going to be forever with Mines Services, as I had agreed I will set up the OTR Repair Department and then head back to Guyana.
I distinctly remember being the first person to set foot in the new facility on Bethesdaweg. Willem’s vision for expansion was evident when he shared his plans of acquiring the new plot and relocating Mines to this promising location.
My association with Mines Services Suriname N.V. goes back to 1990 when I pursued courses at Bandag.
Back then, I also provided tire repair services to companies like Rosebel and Omai Goldmines, filling a crucial gap in the market.
Despite not having formal higher education qualifications, I earned Willem’s trust through the quality of my work. I took on the challenge of developing an entire new tire department for OTR, ensuring that every task was executed with precision and dedication.
Throughout the years, my responsibilities have remained consistent, and I’ve found immense joy in my work.
From 2013 onwards, I’ve embraced collaboration with my colleagues and adapted to every change with enthusiasm.
The energy and determination, especially when dealing with large tires, have kept me engaged and motivated. Working with Mines Services Suriname N.V. has truly been a rewarding journey filled with growth and camaraderie.”
