Non-Rotating Wire Rope

Non-rotating (or non-rotational) wire ropes find applications in a wide array of settings, including on and offshore cranes, various machinery, winches, and trolleys.

They’re utilized in the maritime and fisheries sector, on and offshore oil exploitation, civil and industrial construction, engineering and infrastructure projects, underground and surface mining, timber extraction, and numerous other industries and contexts.

Under load, all wire ropes naturally generate torque, meaning they have a tendency to unwind unless both ends are secured against rotation.

The torque and rotation speed increase proportionately with the applied load.

Non-rotating wire ropes are engineered to counteract this rotational force, ensuring that the outer rotational force of the wire rope naturally opposes the rotational force of the inner strands when a load is applied.

Note:

All wire ropes rotate to some extent; however, by selecting the right wire rope for your project you can help minimize this rotation.
